If you have had the chance to do any shopping or visit any stores recently, you have surely seen that pleated skirts are an all-time must-have for every woman’s closet. They are feminine, flirty and fabulous for the fall season. See some of the styles below that will add the right touch of style to your wardrobe.
I snagged this pleated pleasure in a deep wine color from H&M:
This jeweled-toned hue is a fall favorite and a perfect color for just about any skin tone. I paired mine with blush pink sweater (also from H&M but two years ago) for a complimentary color-blocked look. Doesn’t look like the skirt is available at hm.com but is still available in stores. I love the Steve Madden sock booties I paired with it because they have a block-heel and pointed toe in a color that was big this spring and continues to be a favorite for fall. You can find where I got this pair on my blog post on fall booties here.
I also rock my pleated skirts in faux leather.
Having these pleats in black faux leather combines femininity and edge all in one. I picked up this skirt last year from Aritzia but found a couple similar styles here and here. I added the belt and kept it cool and casual with a statement tee (from a boutique in Harlem).
Like my midi-dress obsession, I’m also obsessed with pleated midi-skirts. You can wear them year round. This look is from the summer but as the temperatures drop, wear leggings or tights underneath and pair them with your favorite knee-boots or booties.
You could even add a bomber jacket, sweatshirt or oversized sweater for an easy, chic outfit. This multi-print goodie was from Zara during their summer sale. (Tip: their next seasonal sale should be around Christmas!)
As always, here are a few options I have seen online and think you would enjoy:
- Navy & Cream Pleats for the low price of $19.99. Wear it with a gray or burgundy sweater and brown booties for a sophisticated look.
- This Aritzia skirt comes in camel or black and would be a perfect closet staple to wear with oversized sweaters or sleek turtlenecks for a monochromatic look. You could do black head-to-toe and add a beret to finish the look.
- Asos has an abundance of pleats for all sizes. This one is ideal for my plus-size ladies. Wear it with a v-neck sweater or a sweater that hangs off the shoulder. Add sneakers to keep it casual or spice it up with booties for a girls night out style.
