Who doesn’t want to wear leggings all year long?
Who loves a feminine take on military fashion?
I see those raised hands!
I enjoy the combination of tough and feminine which is why I run straight to military-inspired style. It makes me feel chic, strong and fashionable all at once. It’s what I like to call, “Military Femme.”
Ladies, this outfit works on so many levels. I see girls night out, concerts or a hot date night look on your horizon. If your family likes to get fly for holiday gatherings, this look will work for that too!
The shirt dress is from Zara. It has an oversized fit so I am actually wearing a size small. While I’m rocking it buttoned all the way up, you could also wear it open and layered on top of a statement tee with distressed jeans and pointed-toe flats. In the Spring, you can wear it as is with casual sneakers.
Faux-leather leggings have been making an appearance every fall/winter for the last few years. The beauty is that now, you can dress them up or keep them cool and casual with oversized sweaters, a denim jacket or sports hoodie. This pair can be found at Athleta, the best-kept secret for easy, athleisure style.
I paired these ankle booties with the leggings but I also think a pair of Nike Cortez or simple, white sneakers would also work with this look.
As always, here are some options to create a Military Femme style all your own:
- Camo leggings – pair these with a chunky black sweater or an oversized sweatshirt.
- Military Shirt– talk about a good deal! Snag this cutie for only $17!
- Jumpsuit – this is ideal for my curvier women. Asos Curves remains a line that caters to women with a lil’ extra loving.
- Double-breasted Blazer – my plus size women will also enjoy this blazer with jeans and ankle booties. Wear a statement tee inside the blazer to bring it all together.
Let me know if you try any of these looks or where I can find some more military-inspired pieces!
